Our style at weddings is to watch as the day unfolds and to capture the moments that tell the story of your unique day. The devil is in the detail, and that is so true of weddings. It is often the moments ‘between moments’ that are the most telling. We try very much to be as unobtrusive as possible, and we like to think we are the least bossy wedding photographers we could possibly be! Saying that, for most weddings, there are usually a number of more formal shots required that are important to have for the record, and we are very happy to organise whatever is needed. We spend a lot of time in France, and this places us in an ideal position to photograph your special day there, be it central Paris, or the South of France. We also travel further afield, and if you are thinking about a wedding abroad, please get in touch to discuss your requirements – having us there needn’t cost the earth – generally we charge our normal day rate plus travel/accommodation expenses. Apart from weddings, we both have our own interests and commercial work that stems from that. Kevin’s passion is landscape photography, mine is food photography, and we have a shared interest in anything VW. We are lucky enough to have regular work with the amazing magazine VW Camper & Commercial, http://www.volkswagencamper.co.uk/ and one day soon I just know we will have another bay window camper van……… Please give us a call or drop us a line, we’d love to hear from you. à bientôt!
Thanks for visiting our website – we are Fleur + Kevin Challis and if you are planning a wedding, or need a professional photography service of some kind, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
Photographing weddings is our passion and we tend to shoot together which means you get two perspectives all day, and the groom gets his own photographer whilst he’s getting ready too!
I’ve always loved photography, borrowing my Dad’s beloved film camera back in 1983 to take on a school trip to Scotland. After teenage years of snapping my family and friends at every opportunity, I left photography behind until I met Kevin who was brilliant at landscape photography – he rekindled my interest and I learnt the joys and frustrations of manual film cameras, medium format, and the most amazing thing of all – the darkroom! Printing my own photos was magical to me, the smell of the chemicals and the thrill of the emerging image. My first wedding was taken on black and white film, and hand printed in the darkroom. Digital photography was progressing very quickly at this point and I then became hooked on the ability to see exactly what I was taking – invaluable for wedding photography. The rest is history as they say, and we are now kept busy photographing weddings, or anything pretty much involving people.
What we love about weddings is the mix of the anticipated, but also the great unknown; no two weddings are alike – they each have their own magic, with the emotions running through them, and the bringing together of past and the present. We love being part of a couple’s day, and we do our utmost to make it the most special it can be. Our approach is relaxed, friendly, creative – we love to hear your ideas for the perfect shoot or wedding.
